Elizabeth Wolfenden, Administration Officer at YMCA WA stood out for going above and beyond in the past year, accepting the Star Award at the YMCA WA Staff Awards 2018.
Elizabeth humbly accepted the award on the evening of the Staff Awards on 26 October 2018, where YMCA WA staff gathered on the banks of the Swan River at South of Perth Yacht Club. The YMCA WA Staff Awards occur annually, celebrating the achievements of all staff who, together, have made outstanding efforts across the organisation in the past year.
The Star Award is awarded each year at the YMCA WA Staff Awards, recognising the work of a YMCA WA staff member who, over the past 12 months working with the Y, has demonstrated a commitment to Service, Teamwork, Approach and Reliability and who embodies the YMCA values.
"I'm so grateful to accept this award. It really makes it worthwhile working with services and staff across the organisation who are so passionate about what they do, and I love to help in every way I can to bring power to inspired young people across local communities in Western Australia." Elizabeth remarked.
Grant Yonge, Executive Manager of Strategy, Governance and Administration, nominating Elizabeth for the Star Award, also expressed his gratitude to Elizabeth, resulting in the nomination.
"Although Elizabeth only works three days a week, the effort she shows us in her role really goes above and beyond, turning out a five-day effort. This isn't something we ask from Elizabeth, but it really shows how dedicated she is to her role and the dedication she has to providing quality service to our programs and service locations across Western Australia" said Grant.
Other categories celebrated in the YMCA WA Staff Awards include Mission Program Excellence Award and Leadership Excellence Award.
